Underfloor heating system in new home Manurewa
LOCATION: Manurewa, Auckland
UPGRADE TYPE: New in slab hydronic underfloor heating pipe installation
JOB VALUE TOTAL (circa): Under $ 26.620,00-
JOB DURATION: Circa 3 days
JOB DESCRIPTION: When you are building a new home you will of course be thinking about things like carpet colours, kitchen design and possibly what toilet you will want, but how much more important is it to also look at how you will be keeping that new home warm and how you will be heating your water? A trend which is now becoming more standardised in New Zealand demands that new homes specified with concrete slabs install the required pipe work before the concrete goes down. Especially when you are looking at an additional minor investment of less than $40/sqm.
More and more engineers have adapted to this standard specifying or recommending hydronic heating and combination system within their building design. Adding considerable value and resell attractiveness to the home. Once the pipe is in the slab the home owner or developer may later decide to complete the installation or specify the heat source. Hydronic central heating is not subject to consent (because it does not mix with potable water) making the process very simply regardless at what stage you build is.
This Manurewa home will never have to worry about heating. Powered by 2 x 15 KW air to water heat pumps and a 150mm pipe spacing installation above insulation pods, response times and maintenance are NO issue. A truly powerful and efficient combination system.
Challenges included working outdoors where rain delayed works for over 3 days.
We may update this job as it progresses into stage two where the heat pumps and manifolds are installed and commissioned.
